Preset navigation worked really fine there.Īnyway, I hope, this issue can be solved quickly, since its quite of a problem for me. I didnt have this issue with my old DAW (Cubase 9.5). But all in all, I can confirm, that the behaviour is very often not conclusive at all. So i can clearly confirm, there is a different behaviour, dependent on the synth. That means: Sometimes i can browse up/down, sometimes it changes the track/instrument. In Serum: When in the browser Menu, even if I use the cursors up/down (whicht worked mostely fine with the others i tested her) it doesnt work correctly. In Vengeance Avenger: It works quite nice. When i use left/right here (it all in one column) it switches the track. I can use the up/down keys with no problem. In Synthmaster 2.9: It actually works best here. In Massive X: I can't do anything with the cursors. But also here, it sometimes suddenly switches the tracks. For Diva: It actually workes better as Omnishphere, i can also navigate left right, that means navigate between the different columns. and sometimes it changes the track/instrument. For Omnisphere: Even if i click on a preset, stay with the mouse on exactly the same spot, sometimes with the curser up/down it will change presets, sometimes not. So with all the information, i had a closer look to this phenomena: I could see where cursor and position control should have optional preferences.įirst of all, thanks alot for all your support here. There might be a feature request somewhere, as it's been talked about. I tend to see the cursor positioning, or last clicked item being the gating factor in most cases (barring any unforseen situatuons). The only other rule would likely be the VST itself. We'd probably have to talk specifics, but for now, just be aware of cursor positioning, and last clicked areas that might throw off focus, as chrismarshall2 pointed to as well. I'm not sure where they would override cursor position or retouching that position. Just routinely be aware before committing to using the cursor keys, scroll wheel, etc. On the flip side, this kind of positioning can be really useful once one gets use to cursor positioning. Then move the cursor to tracks, and scroll, and suddenly the tracks scroll (if track count is greater than the size of the screen. For instance, hovering over a data field like transpose, or position markers iwill change that very item if you scroll. Studio One is rather sensitive to cursor position. If the cursor resides over the arrangement area or at left over the tracks (around where the track name, input/output section is) controls can become quite different. The only rule might be the position of the cursor, or where you last clicked. Apart from that I'm so much in Love with my new DAW. I also tried to assign extra keys for preset navigation in the "key setting" which kind of didnt work for me.

The thing is, that sometimes it does work as wished - and then sometimes not. And sometimes it just switches the track in Studio One. When browsing through the presets of a VST Synth (like for instance Omnisphere, Diva and so on.) I often have the problem that sometimes I can scroll through the synts presets with the cursor keys, and sometimes not. There is one thing I have a problem with while using Studio One 4.5
